Did you know there are no wheelchair accessible tram stops on Brunswick Street, Smith St and Gertrude St?
The No.11 & 86 Trams, running through the heart of Fitzroy and Collingwood, allowing local residents and visitors to access the many shops, bars and restaurants in this beautiful area without needing a car.
However, there are currently no wheelchair accessible stops along Brunswick Street, Smith St and Gertrude St making this vital Public Transport inaccessible and difficult to use to anyone with mobility issues or pushing a pram.
The government commenced plans to make route 86 accessible, but have been delayed.
Access to public transport is vital and everyone should be able to use it – regardless of ability.
Sign our petition to send a clear message to the Labor Government – genuinely accessible tram stops need to be a top priority. We need to make the 86 and 11 tram routes accessible for all.
The signatories ask the Department of Transport to give urgent priority to building accessible public transport stops on routes 86 and 11.
