IDAHOBIT Day 2023

Gabrielle de Vietri on the steps of Parliament holding a Pride flag and a sign that reads "Trans rights are human rights"

I know firsthand how vitally important it is to ensure that our young queer folk are supported and feel loved and seen and heard and, importantly, safe and protected.

Protect Travel Rights for Trans Victorians

Gabrielle stands with Edward Crossland and Sophie Wade at the Pride March, holding pride and trans fans.

The action I seek is that the minister urgently write to the Minister for Women and Equalities in the United Kingdom, the Rt Hon Kemi Badenoch, asking her not to exclude Victoria from the list of jurisdictions whose gender recognition certificates are recognised in the United Kingdom.

Gabrielle’s First Speech to Parliament

I would like to start by acknowledging the custodians and true sovereigns of this land, the Wurundjeri people. The electorate of Richmond was also built on Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung land, and walking to my Fitzroy office on Gertrude Street each morning I am keenly aware of the deep significance of that location to Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung people and other Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
