On Thursday 6 June, we hosted a briefing at Victorian Parliament House on the upcoming Inquiry.

This is an Inquiry into Labor’s plans to demolish and privatise Victoria’s 44 high-rise public housing towers. It will investigate how Labor’s plan stacks up and will look into things like the rationale and cost-modelling for the decision, as well as its impact on public housing residents.

The Inquiry gives concerned Victorians the chance to have their voices heard on this disastrous plan.

You can watch a recording of the briefing here:

The inquiry timeline has yet to be finalised, but we expect submissions will open towards the end of 2024.

This briefing provides information about the focus of the inquiry and details the terms of reference. The submission process creates a powerful opportunity for the community to have their say on the impact of the Labor government’s decision, relocation plans, the future of these sites and the future of public housing in Victoria.
