Gabrielle’s Story

Hi, I'm Gabrielle.

I’ve lived in the electorate of Richmond for almost 20 years, and for most of that time I worked as an artist, drawing people into the conversation about how to create the world that we want to live in.

Before becoming the MP for Richmond, I was the Mayor and a councillor of the City of Yarra in the first Greens majority government anywhere in the world. I was also an activist and a contemporary artist.

Becoming a politician was never part of the plan, but after years of activism I saw how our democracy was being bought by wealthy donors. And that this democracy is rigged in their favour.

I realised that parliament is not reserved for them – it is for all of us.

I’m here to make sure everyone has a safe and affordable home. To fight for climate action. And to stand proudly with my LGBTIQA+ community.

As a Collingwood local, I’m passionate about our community and want to ensure we remain a liveable, welcoming place for everyone.

I invite you to join me in demanding a better future for all of us.
